LEARNING GROUPS
The Learning Groups provide a space for reflective practice and learning filling the gap between theoretical
learning and supervision. By exploring and questioning what it means to work within an existential frame, participants grapple with the questions of what it means to work within the parameters of
existential counselling, psychotherapy and supervision. The Learning Groups create a stimulating environment for practitioners to “be with and talk to others in the same field.
Each session includes a mixture of:
Reading (theory and practice)
Discussion
Exploration of client themes
Self reflection
The specific theme for each meeting is decided by the group
Dr Alison Strasser, Adam McLean and/or Soraiya Gilmour will facilitate.
There are two genres of Learning Group:
- Professional Practice Group - Integration of existential theory into practice as a counsellor, psychotherapist or coach - see PDF
- Supervision Practice Group - Integration of theories of supervision into practice as a supervisor - see PDF
